World economic outlook 2007 – snapshot

I see a lot of economic reports on the slowdown in the US economy again in 2007. If you recollect, that is the primary objective that made me start this blog. Of course, I tried to give the blog a well rounded figure by trying to cover all aspects of my interest into it to make it more lively else economics can sometimes be very intimidating for people to follow.

 I have tried to bring in economics into this blog in a gradual phased manner giving sufficient assimilation time for my readers to get used to the terminologies etc. and the concepts by giving them plenty of examples.

Lets focus on this core issue chosen:

The IMF’s world economic outlook released in April 2007 states that the world economy is still poised for strong growth in 2007 and 2008 – this is a contrarian viewpoint!

This link clearly speaks of the US economic showdown largely caused due to the slowdown in the housing sector. The BRIC’s are still motoring ahead. Spillover effect has been limited – notwithstanding the fact that there is increased integration between all the societies.
