Comparison of revenue per employee/IT products versus IT services

Take two top companies in their respective sectors:

For a change, for IT products, we don’t choose Microsoft but choose Apple Inc. for IT products. As expected, we choose India’s media IT service darling company, Infosys Technologies Ltd for IT services. Let’s see how they compare on this one metric.

Here is a quick snippet on how they compare on this critical metric. This just gives you an idea of how much more productive IT products business (if done well) is compared to an IT service business  (with some products thrown in-between to broaden the portfolio of offerings of that company).

Yes, we know this is like comparing Apples to Oranges as the sectors/fields they operate all totally different but I was curious to do this analysis and hence here it is.
