Review: iPhone 4 with iOS4

with one comment

I bought this from the Apple store at Palo Alto, California last month and while I bought the one without contract to AT&T/Apple paying the full retail price, the experience has been worth it.

Ever since I lost my iPhone bought in India back in 2008 due to a freak incident, I was waiting to avenge the loss of the device I used to use 24*7 and kept by my side. It was therefore a natural progression that I moved to the latest iPhone4 and having good features.

However, it was not so easy getting it to work in India due to the Micro SIM but I got it to work with a pair of scissors, Internet manuals to cut it to shape to fit my iPhone4 and of course, enabling the GPRS and getting it to activate on my network locally.

I also bought a Belkin cover for my iPhone4 as my last iPhone got permanently damaged due to water damage due to a faulty cover.

I finally achieved success and am now a happy user of the iPhone4! I configured my office exchange server with this to receive office emails alongwith my personal emails of various services as well!

My BlackBerry turns 1 / Economics of investing on a BlackBerry

leave a comment »

It’s been a quickfire 1 year for my BlackBerry. It seems like it was just yesterday that I went in for this purchase after my iPhone 3G fiasco.

My BlackBerry has served me well. Yes, it has not only increased my workload to span weekends (I always seem to be in touch with activities at work even while commuting to/from work) but also had other such advantages.

In addition to these social advantages, it has greatly improved my productivity proving it’s not just a gadget bought for pure frills:

Most critical: You can obviously make/receive calls that are of good audible quality and speakerphone is equally good. Voice quality is also good and depends on the AirTel signal. Read the rest of this entry »

This is what it looks like  (rugged is the word) but then I do not want to be taking any chances with my Blackberry this time around so it has one of the best protective covers available in the world shielding it.

Upgraded my iPhone 3G to 2.2 update

leave a comment »

This is a brand new update. Last week, I was on GPS with a friend outside and got a call and there was no way I got to accept that call- there was no accept button! Apple – !

Hope this update resolves such issues.

It’s also got Google Maps Street view but I don’t think it works for India just as yet. I tried US streets and it works flawlessly!
